Career Paths

Accounting

The Accounting department processes all incoming and outgoing funds to and from the company to accurately report the financial results and positions of Donegal Insurance Group’s affiliates in accordance with statutory requirements.

Claims Department

Claims

The Claims department delivers on our “There when it matters most” promise by providing best-in-class service to our customers every day. Our training programs, workflows and use of technology are focused on the customer experience. There are multiple career tracks in the Claims department, beginning with our Claims Trainee position to Workers’ Compensation Claims, Property, Casualty and Complex Bodily Injury. In addition to these specialized roles, Claims also offers various leadership positions. If you are attentive, adaptable and accountable for your work and career, a position in Claims could be the start for which you are looking.

Enterprise Analytics and Actuarial

The Enterprise Analytics and Actuarial departments are establishing a culture at Donegal Insurance Group where data and analytics are integrated into strategy and decision-making at all levels of the organization. The teams are comprised of the following core functions: reserving, business intelligence, predictive analytics, ratemaking, compliance and regulatory and data governance. Enterprise Analytics and Actuarial, working closely with Information Services and Risk, provide analytical solutions for the organization, including Underwriting, Marketing, Accounting and Claims.

Human Resources

Human Resources (HR) is responsible for developing innovative human resources solutions that are aligned with the company’s strategic business goals. HR partners closely with departments to coordinate the company’s workforce, ensuring that we are maximizing our employee’s talent.

Information Services

Information Services (IS) develops technology designed to provide Donegal Insurance Group with a competitive edge regarding the company’s business objectives. Frequent innovative and challenging opportunities for programmers, database administrations/developers, business analysts, quality assurance and network engineers are available.

Internal Audit

The Internal Audit department is comprised of dedicated individuals with various backgrounds of expertise. As an experienced team, we strive to be business partners that add value and provide objective and independent assessments of business activities, financial systems, information security, internal controls, risks and governance. The Internal Audit Department seeks to inspire and embrace change and growth as the company moves forward with its strategic plan.

Marketing

The Marketing department is comprised of our Business Relationship Managers and our Corporate Marketing team. The Business Relationship Managers work directly with our agents while our Corporate Marketing team handles Communications, Corporate Advertising and Sponsorships, Digital Marketing and Events. Agency Compensation, Incentives and Licensing are handled by Marketing.

Operational Services

The Operational Services department is involved with internal operations and is categorized into four areas including Facility Maintenance, Print Shop, Mail Room and the File Room.

Resource Center

The Resource Center has three functional areas: Automation - fields calls/emails from Agents and Underwriters to resolve technical system issues, provide guidance and error resolution for Personal and Commercial Lines quoting systems. Call Center - handles calls/emails from Agents, Insured’s and third party contacts assisting with policy questions, billing inquires and web support. Service Center – Services an Agency’s existing book of business. Service Center Agents work directly with insureds on policy endorsements, coverage review and recommendations.

Training Department

Training & Development

The Training & Development department is located in the Home Office Training Center. This department focuses on Insurance designation exam administration as it is an approved onsite exam center for AICPCU/IIA program examinations, CE course offerings that are available to our agents and employees, company compliance trainings and professional development; including access to our Learning Management System (LMS).

Underwriting

The Commercial Lines and Personal Lines Underwriting departments focus on risk selection, pricing and monitoring risk performance, while maintaining positive working relationships with our agency force on a daily basis. The risk selection process occurs on an individual policy basis, or through automated underwriting systems within which risk acceptance is determined or referred to underwriters.
